Labradoodle Puppies Shipped or Pick Up
Pick up
Puppies are able to go home between 8 -9 weeks old and we schedule a pick up date long in advance for families who are able to pick up in person. I schedule each pick up appointment separately throughout the day so there is time to go over any last questions you may have one on one.
If you will travel to Oregon by plane to pick up your puppy and need me to help you with a travel health certificate, a crate or delivery to the airport please let me know. Typically airlines charge a fee to carry your pup on board and you need to make a reservation for a carry on pet. A soft sided travel kennel is required and must fit under the seat in front of you. These small carry bags are great for the pups but likely will not last you very long as they outgrow them quickly. You can bring your own, ship one to me in advance or ask us about ‘renting’ one from us for your trip.
If you are making a road trip to pick up your puppy I suggest to bring a comfortable crate for your pup along with plenty of towels, food and water bowls, a few chew toys and some wet wipes. Remember to bring a jug of water for them. Usually the pups sleep a few hours and are awake for under an hour at this age. A very long car ride may get them car sick and wet wipes are handy for them and their crate. You should plan to stop every 3 hours or so to let them out for potty time and to get a drink of water. Just a quick play time will help. Never take them to a pet relief area or highly trafficked spot at this age as they are not fully vaccinated.
Puppy Nanny Service
The next best option if you cannot be here to take your pup home is Nanny service. Either flight or car travel is available. Laura Finney provides most of the service personally and will coordinate directly with you to bring your puppy home. Laura loves road trips with her dogs! Flight travel cost always varies depending on the current airline prices but you can rest easy knowing your new fur baby is in loving care in the cabin with her.
Puppies Shipped via Airlines
I am not a professional or certified pet shipping service but am happy to work with you to safely ship your puppy on the airlines. We ship from Portland International Airport (PDX). I have been shipping the puppies on airlines since 2009. They do well on their trip and are safely tucked into a sturdy, airline approved crate. I have shipped to many states as well international destinations. Shipping will be after they are 9 weeks old and includes their travel health certificate, crate and airline fees.
International shipping varies by Country but international travel requires the use of a certified pet shipper approved by IPATA. You can make your travel arrangements directly with these providers and IPATA keeps a current list of approved shippers on their website.
In addition to my 3 year genetic health warranty, your puppy comes homes with 1 month of Trupanion pet insurance. This coverage must be activated the day of pickup by you. Trupanion will call you to verify information that I have given them. Because I sign all puppies up before they leave my home, they go home with you covered and with no wait period. Maintaining the insurance is optional to you.
